The Selma Castle is a unique renovation of a stone masonry structure built atop a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River in 1854. Pinnacle was challenged to restore and revive the charm of this structure through an extensive masonry restoration process and interior updates. The East façade possessed challenging access as we were forced to navigate the bluff with the river below. The stone restoration required using original stone from the quarry, hand tools for tuckpointing, repair of damaged stone, and many other techniques to breathe new life into the building. In addition, Pinnacle repaired the exterior windows, replaced wood trim, and exterior painting was completed. Damaged plaster and painting areas at the interior have been restored along with mechanical, electrical and fire alarm upgrades all while keeping the historical nature of the building intact.
